WOOO FIRST-ish blog entry. This entry is not a haul or anything freaky I see at the thrift...more so where I shop for cool 80s/90s staple pieces (and helpful tips)! If you'd like to know then keep on readin.

1: Goodwill is good, but local/small buisness thrift stores are better. Yes, depending on what kind of buisness they are it could be more expensive, or cheaper. Usually they have better stuff than goodwill, or any other mainstream thrift store. From my expirience.
1.5: YARD SALES ARE AWESOME!! It is hit or miss, but awesome nonetheless. Worth checking out!
2: You don't need an entire thrifted wardrobe to look the part. Having major staple pieces like jeans or even a jacket can go a long way. The way you style accessories, hair and makeup help tremendously!
3: Ebay, (sometimes) Depop, and Etsy are your friend. Most of my thrift purchases are online. Use the low price and free shipping filters to your advantage. Don't fall for the re-seller/scalper prices!
4: Yes it is possible to mix in modern clothes with your looks! After thrifting and studying decade trends...you start to pick up on elements in todays fashion that are recycled. Fashion is cyclical!

ONE FINAL TIP (IMPORTANT): Invest in a tape measure. Vintage clothes run smaller. For example: a womans size 8 today would like a size 12-13 in 1987. Some online sellers inculde description measurements/photo measurements!
